What do you do?
Professionally, I make mobile SoCs come alive, powered by the Linux kernel. Personally, I write, take photos, learn Sanskrit, and go down Reddit/Wikipedia rabbit holes.
Why?
I develop software because I'm good at it and I love making useful things I can show off to people. I read about obscure things because the more I read, the more connections between seemingly disparate things emerge. I take photos in order to get better at photography. I learn Sanskrit so that I can read literature directly without having to reach for translations.
